A Revised Hammer Mock Draft for 2017!

26 Apr A Revised Hammer Mock Draft for 2017!

Minnesota Vikings 2017 NFL Draft

Ladies and gentlemen we are now within a week of the 2017 NFL Draft!  Now that our Vikings have signed their free agents we have a little better idea what direction this team may go on draft day.  A first round pick would be nice, but them’s the breaks.

In this particular mock I might have traded down a couple times but I was using the basic Fanspeak service that doesn’t allow trades.  This is a set of players I wouldn’t mind seeing in Viking uniforms this fall.  Enjoy!

2nd round (48th overall)  =  OL  Pat Elflein, Ohio State  –  I wanted to get someone with position flexibility that could play center or guard.  Luckily for me, Elflein was also the best player available in this mock.

3rd round (79th overall)  =  DT  Jaleel Johnson, Iowa  –  With Shariff Floyd and possibly Tom Johnson in doubt for this season we need a 3-tech.  From what I’ve seen I like this guy.

3rd round (86th overall)  =  RB  Kareem Hunt, Toledo  –  A solid running back to add to our backfield.

4th round (120th overall)  =  OL  Nico Siragusa, San Diego State  –  We need two interior offensive linemen from this draft and in this mock I felt there was a bit of a drop after Siragusa.

4th round (128th overall)  =  DE  Tanoh Kpassagnon, Villanova  –  Defensive end isn’t a huge need for this team but I simply couldn’t resist taking this guy while I still could.  He has potential and this is exactly the coaching staff to help him reach it.

5th round (160th overall)  =  S  John Johnson, Boston College  –  I haven’t seen this guy play much but he’s a safety with good size and he ran ok at the combine.

6th round (199th overall)  =  LB  Elijah Lee, Kansas State  –  We need a linebacker and Zimmer seems to like this guy.  Who am I to deny Zimmer what he wants?

7th round (232nd overall)  =  TE  Michael Roberts, Toledo  –  Josiah Price isn’t even on the CBS big board for Fanspeak’s draft site so I just took a different tight end.  Roberts has good size and this also fulfills Spielman’s tendency to take two players from the same school.

Bring on the real draft!
