Who will the Minnesota Vikings draft in 2017?

Minnesota Vikings 2017 NFL Mock Draft
An Early Hammer 2017 Mock Draft

I read and enjoy many of the other Minnesota Viking blogs out there.  A lot of these blogs will post mock drafts that fans have done on websites like fanspeak.  I think I’ll throw my hat in the ring and see what a Hammer mock draft looks like at the moment.

If the Vikings ended up with these eight players in the 2017 NFL Draft, I believe I would be ok with that.  Perhaps I will do another mock draft and post it after the combine/free agency in a couple months.  Here goes nothing:

2nd Round (48th overall)  Garett Bolles OT, Utah   –  We need O-Linemen early and often

3rd Round (79th overall)  Dion Dawkins OT, Temple   –   We need O-Linemen early and often

3rd Round (86th overall)  Taylor Moton OT, Western Michigan   –   We need O-Linemen early and often

4th Round (119th overall)  Kendell Beckwith LB, LSU   –   Honestly I forgot about his ACL injury a couple months ago or I wouldn’t have taken him quite this early.  Oh well, it’s just a mock

4th Round (127th overall)  Alvin Kamara RB, Tennessee   –   AP will most likely be gone and this is the first spot in the mock that didn’t feel like I was reaching for a running back

5th Round (161st overall)  Channing Stribling CB, Michigan   –   A nice tall corner Zimmer can work with.  Should provide good depth

6th Round (200th overall)  Isaac Asiata G, Utah   –   We need O-Linemen early and often

7th Round (235th overall)  Josiah Price TE, Michigan State   –   I think I would take “The Magician” in the 7th round whether we keep Ellison or not

It’s all subjective and who knows if this would be a good draft or not.  Isn’t that what makes it fun?  I believe it is.  Happy off-season to Minnesota!
